Latino Americans in (and around) St. Augustine

We’ve been awarded a grant from the American Library Association and National Endowment for the Humanities to offer programming on Latino American history. Throughout the 2015-2016 academic year, we will screen episodes of the documentary Latino Americans: 500 Years of History, hold scholarly talks, host an art exhibit, hold a festival, and collect stories from our community.

We’ll be posting a schedule of events later this summer, so stay tuned! In the meantime, if you have ideas for programming or stories, please contact Kelly Enright, PhD, Director of Public History: kenright @

How a Hispanic woman made Florida history at the St. Augustine Lighthouse,” by Walter Shinn, The Florida Times-Union (April 12, 2013).
